Lapwing (Vanellus vanellus) photo Jubilee River

Trying to make the most out of this weather yesterday I headed out along the Jubilee River, the last thing I expected was to be to be battling heat haze!  This Lapwing (Vanellus vanellus) also known as a Peewit due to the calls they make, was on a stretch between Dorney and Taplow.  This one was kept busy scaring off a crow, red kite & a grey heron.  Made a note to go back in the morning or afternoon in better light!!
